Für ihre Arbeit hat Karin Nordmeyer das Bundesverdienstkreuz bekommen, und obwohl sie dieses Jahr 80 Jahre alt wird, setzt sie sich immer noch leidenschaftlich dafür ein, dass sich die Lage der Frauen weltweit verbessert. Über die Referentin: Karin Nordmeyer is a strong advocate for human rights, in particular for the rights of women and children. She serves as a senior adviser on women’s rights issues and was appointed by the German government to contribute to the work of Committees, such as the German Advisory Board for Civilian Crisis Prevention, the NATO Civil Society Advisory Panel on Women, Peace and Security and is repeatedly appointed to government delegations, such as to the UN Commission on the Status of Women sessions. She is the elected President of UN Women National Committee Germany since 2004. Her vision: Women achieve full participation in all aspects and spheres of the political and social life- Women enjoy their full potential – Women become agents for change- Women and men live free from violence.
