More About Kathleen Cooney DVM, MS, CHPV, CCFP Since 2006, Kathleen's focus has been the advancement of quality end-of-life care for companion animals, and more recently, on animal welfare and the ethical approaches to pet aftercare.   In 2006, she founded (but no longer owns) the company Home to Heaven in Loveland, Colorado, where she honed skills to support patients and clients.   She is a past-President of the International Association for Animal Hospice and Palliative Care (IAAHPC).  Through her consulting work, her mission is to provide end-of-life care training to veterinary team providers and raise awareness for this field. Dr. Cooney has collaborated in euthanasia training for the AVMA, AAHA, IAAHPC, HABRI, the Fear Free program, and is Founder and Director of Education for the Companion Animal Euthanasia Training Academy (CAETA).
