Matt Hopper is a jazz guitarist based in Kansas City. He started playing at age 12 and began to study privately at 17. His first teacher was the great guitarist Danny Embrey. He would also later study with another great guitarist, Rod Fleeman. Matt Hopper is a 2005 graduate of the Conservatory of Music at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, where he studied under Professor Bobby Watson. While studying at UMKC, Hopper was able to work with Watson, as well as with all of the touring artists of note that who were Watson’s associates in New York City. Neon Jazz is a radio program airing since 2011. Hosted by Joe Dimino and Engineered by John Christoper in Kansas City, Missouri giving listeners a journey into one of America's finest inventions.
