KCLR News: Cllr John Pender on the proposed Rathrush Energy Park (17th July 2026)

The company that hopes to construct a two billion euro underground green hydrogen storage facility near the village of Rathoe in County Carlow will hold a public information day at Rathoe Community Hall on Wednesday, August the 12th Net Zero Energy plans to develop a 600 megawatt underground facility which would generate green hydrogen to provide electricity which would save an estimated 180 thousand tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions per year. Cllr John Pender (FF) feels the mid-August timing for the information day is far from ideal.
