KCLR News: €5 million funding boost for two Kilkenny GAA Clubs (28th May 2026)
from KCLR96FM · host KCLR96FM
Two GAA Clubs in Kilkenny have secured a combined total of €5 million in funding through the Government's Immigrant Investor Programme. Windgap is to receive €3 million while Shamrocks Ballyhale will receive €2 million thanks to a scheme which encouraged inward investment from high net worth investors and business professionals from outside the European Economic Area seeking investment opportunities in the State. Speaking to KCLR News's Dermot Keyes, Carlow/Kilkenny TD John McGuinness welcomed the news, saying that securing these monies - subject to conditions - was a long-term process for both clubs and the investor.
