KCLR News interviews The Village Well committee in Coon Village (2nd March 2026)

Residents in the North Kilkenny village of Coon are making great strides in their ambition to buy the village's pub, where patrons were first welcomed back in 1850. Currently called The Ranchers' Return, the pub will be re-titled The Village Well should this well-mobilised group reach their fundraising target. Having fired up the news hooter about their efforts to KCLR News, Dermot Keyes visited Coon (for nothing stronger than a well-brewed tea) where he was warmly greeted by an enthusiastic group who are doing all they can to keep their public house an active and viable presence at the heart of their tightly knit community.
