That’s today’s topic. You might remember Keisa Brown by her song, Some Bridges Need Burning. (Sing) She was born in Jackson, Mississippi in 1947. As a young girl, she and her family moved to Chicago, where she got her start singing in school and church choirs according to Malaco Records. She had a powerful voice and it caught the ear of a music producer at a talent show. After that, she relocated to Los Angeles to further her career.Keisa Brown sang backing vocals for singers like Tina Turner and Patti Labelle just to name a few. In 1999, Brown joined the Malaco Records roster where she collaborated with Fredrick Knight on The Keisa Brown Collection.Brown has several songs on her collection album that I like.
