From Rock Bottom to Refuge: How Homelessness and Addiction Lead to Helping Others.  My guest this week is Mr. Kells Lucius, CEO of the nonprofit, The Way Truth Discipleship Ministry. “Doing something for yourself gives motivation, but doing something for others gives meaning.”  ~ M. Lagace   My guest this week knows what it means to walk a mile in another person’s shoes.  Early in his life he had the American dream, a good job, a happy marriage with a family and nice house.  Things were going well for Kells, but like many people it only takes a few tough turns to suddenly wake up one day and the life that you once knew is suddenly a distant memory. Mr. Kells Lucius slowly fell into being addicted drugs and alcohol after years of what he saw as casual partying.  These addictions took away his job, his house and even his family.  Then one day he looked around and saw that he had lost everything that was ever important to him.  He was eventually living in a deer stand and had no direction in his life.  Being at rock bottom can give you a lot if you are willing to recognize your situation and you are ready for a change. On one early morning Kells decided to turn his life over to the Lord and follow however he would guide.  This change wouldn’t be drastic to start with, but like anything worth your time it is the investment where you will find the prize.  Over time Kells started getting his life together and that was when he felt a calling to help others that might in the position he was once in.  That is when he said God led him to starting the nonprofit organization, ‘The Way Truth Discipleship Ministries’ a residential discipleship that houses individuals recovering from addiction. This episode stands as an example that no matter where you are in life you can still make a change and God has a plan for everyone.  The only question left to answer is, are you willing to follow?
