Keynote "Enduring Climate Change" by the Arts Collaboratory food and climate change working group

On 25 and 26 October 2019 Casco Art Institute: Working for the Commons organized the second Assembly for commoning art institutions entitled "Our House is on Fire." In the keynote "Enduring Climate Change" members of the Arts Collaboratory presented a number of case studies related to the food and climate change working group, which consists of: Cràter Invertido: Sari Dennise; Kiosko: Sina Ribak; KUNCI Cultural Studies Center: Ferdi Thajib, Syafiatudina Saja; Ruangrupa: Bellina Erby; DOEN foundation: Yu-Lan van Alphen, Gertrude Flentge; AC: Aline Khoury; Más Arte Más Acción: Ana Garzón Sabogal; Casco Art Institute: Marianna Takou. Following Casco’s inaugural annual Assembly in 2018, "Our House is on Fire" turned our attention to developing a climate justice code for art and art institutions in response to the current climate crisis and the question: What practical measures will art and art institutions take to care for our planetary commons with the power of imagination? The second annual Assembly was developed by a steering committee consisting of: artist Annette Krauss, researcher and organizer Ying Que - who co-organized the inaugural Assembly Elephants in the Room in 2018 - and Casco Art Institute: Binna Choi and Yolande van der Heide with support from Rosa Paardenkooper.
