Kids' Ages and Marriage Stages

Like all living things, relationships are like living organisms. We grow, we feel, we change inside and out. Like how a tree, for example, can be affected by a rough season of minimal or no rain, marriages can be affected when they are not being nourished or cared for.  We often talk about how having children changes the dynamics of your marriage. And with parents of newborns, well meaning parents with more experience often tell the newbies things like “it will get better”. But how does “it” exactly get better? Do our kids’ age change our marriage? How do we grow together?  Joanna Koh-Hoe, CEO of Focus on the Family Singapore, chats with husband-and-wife, Boaz and Claire Nazar, as they share candid stories about their journey as a married couple, and how they handle the changes and transitions of their children growing up.Boaz and Claire are practising lawyers who share a passion to see families and marriage thrive against the odds. They are Master Trainers in the Prevention and Relationship Education Program (PREP®), and oversee the Family Life ministry as lay leaders at Cornerstone Community Church, as well as volunteer as family-life educators with Focus on the Family Singapore.  The couple has over 20 years of experience conducting marriage preparation classes, and have also conducted marriage mentoring training for the past 10 years.
