Today’s guest, John Hollway, is the author of Killing Time: An 18-Year Odyssey from Death Row to Freedom, an award-winning book recognized as one of the best books of the year by the Chicago Sun-Times. The book chronicles the case of former death row inmate, John Thompson – from a wrongful conviction due to prosecutorial misconduct to a last minute shot at getting freedom, merely weeks away from being executed. A nationally recognized expert in criminal justice reform, he specializes in root cause analysis and systems-based approaches to improving fairness and performance in the justice system.  John is also a TEDx speaker (TEDxPenn 2024) and experienced educator, who has taught courses on criminal justice reform, wrongful convictions, and positive psychology in legal practice. He holds degrees from the University of Pennsylvania and The George Washington University Law School.
