Feel…Think…Do….Loop with Christian “Boo” Boucousis
TACO TUESDAY! Take Action Crush Obstacles! Feel…Think…Do….Loop with Christian “Boo” Boucousis How can I be a better, faster, and smarter human in an era of total chaos? Today’s guest, Christian Boucousis (Boo), a proven answer applying fighter pilot principles. Boo was selected for pilot training in the Royal Australian Air Force at the age of 18, successfully graduating as a fighter pilot. Boo was one of only 400 fighter pilots trained over a period of 40 years, achieving his life's dream of flying a F/A-18, and flying solo at the age of 21. After 11 years of service, he was medically discharged after a diagnosis of "bone-fusing", Ankylosing Spondylitis, ending my dream career and presenting him with one of the biggest emotional and financial challenges of his life. With no other skills other than flying, he took a leap of faith to enter the business world, travelling to Afghanistan to establish what is today one of the world's largest humanitarian service providers, CTG Global. As a founder and CEO of a multi-million dollar enterprise, he will tell you this period of my life was the ultimate MBA program. From walking the halls of the UN in New York and Geneva to sharing life experiences with local Afghans, he developed a true understanding of purpose, empathy, determination, and the importance of service leadership when running a complex business. From Afghanistan, he returned to Australia to establish Mode Developments, a property development business founded to build the world's first prefabricated high-rise hotel, the $42 million Peppers King Square Hotel in Perth. Today he shares the tools to equip us to achieve our goals and to unlock our full potential to make a positive impact in our personal and professional lives. Live Your Jam – From the Inside Out with Ellen McGinnis
TACO Tuesday! Take Action Crush Obstacles Live Your Jam – From the Inside Out with Ellen McGinnis What do you do when logic alone is not enough to guide you through the tough challenges and choices you face in everyday life? Today’s Guest, Ellen McGinnis, has changed careers two and a half times, married and divorced, reimagined what motherhood looks like, and moved across five U.S. states and two countries. Every single one of those transitions required her to stop, get quiet, and trust something deeper than logic — because logic alone wasn't enough to guide her through this journey. Over twenty years of doing that work — personally and professionally — she began to see a pattern: the people who navigate change with the most grace aren't the ones with the best plans. They're the ones who've learned to listen inward. So she began the hard work of helping herself and others gain clarity in their lives. That work, lived experience, and thousands of conversations became the foundation for the approach she created — one she now uses to help anyone ready to stop outsourcing their direction and start living from the inside out. That's what she teaches. And it's what her book, own podcast, and workshops are built on. She is living her jam and wants you to live yours. Driven2Thrive with Brent Dowlen
Tough Love Thursday! Where Have All the Good Men Gone? Isn't anyone driven to thrive anymore? We take those questions on today! Today’s guest is Brent Dowlen — men’s coach, speaker, local news anchor and founder of The Fallible Man LLC. He hosts multiple podcasts, including the Driven 2 Thrive Broadcast, helping men stop drifting through life and start living with clarity and purpose. Married to his best friend for nearly 25 years, Brent is a proud girl dad, strongman enthusiast, and unapologetic coffee devotee — running on caffeine, conviction, and just enough chaos to keep life interesting. The Short story: Brent doesn’t create content to motivate men—he creates clarity so they can choose responsibility on purpose. He speaks to men who did what they were told, built the life, they thought they wanted and still feel the quiet tension of misalignment. Brent’s work exists to help men see themselves honestly, own their role without shame, and stay in the fight when motivation fades. A man cannot thrive in isolation, and no amount of success can compensate for relational collapse. Strong relationships and purpose is what carries a man when no one is clapping. Bottom line: Brent is passionate about helping men build strong marriages, meaningful friendships, and real connection in a world where men feel more isolated than ever. Be better tomorrow because of what you do today! The Golden Principles: Leadership Lessons From a Rescued Dog with Andy Neillie
TACO Tuesday! Take Action Crush Obstacles! The Golden Principles: Leadership Lessons From a Rescued Dog with Andy Neillie Do you remember the worst leader you ever worked with? Today’s guest, Andy Neillie, does. Over two decades ago, he worked for someone who made every day harder than it needed to be, not just because of poor leadership, but because he lacked empathy, direction, and integrity. He wasn’t just a bad boss, he was a bad person. That experience, and the stories Andy heard from countless others, lit a fire in him. No one should have to endure that kind of leadership. That fire has fueled his journey to understand what truly makes a great leader. Not just the strategies, but the soul of leadership, the kind of character that earns trust, builds emotional connection, and invests the time required for real change. Andy’s doctoral research focused on the personal side of leadership, and his writings, including The Golden Principles: Life and Leadership Lessons from A Rescued Dog, which emphasizes the power of patience, empathy, and consistent love in leadership. In 2015, The Golden Principles was honored by Amazon.com with a “Top 100 Best Books of the Year” award What started as a reaction to bad leadership has evolved into a deep belief: leadership is always personal. Whether he is writing, speaking, or coaching leaders around the globe, Andy’s passion is helping them embrace the slow, powerful, people-first work of transformational leadership. Millions of miles, thousands of leaders, and hundreds of stories later, Andy still believes: love earns trust, time builds momentum, and leadership is never about you, it’s about those you’re called to serve. From Prison to a Vision of Hope
Tough Love Thursday with Andrew Drasen From Prison to a Vision of Hope Andrew Drasen is the author of A Vision of Hope and the creator of a 90-day framework that helps people transform pain into growth and live on purpose, not by accident. His work began with his own journey through adversity, loss, and rediscovery—experiences that forced him to rebuild from the ground up and ultimately inspired him to create a structured program others could follow. The seed of A Vision of Hope was planted in the least likely of places: a jail dayroom, under fluorescent lights, surrounded by men serving time. Andrew began writing while incarcerated, using journal entries and essays as a way to process his addiction, his mistakes, and the questions of identity and purpose that haunted him. He finished the final chapter of the memoir minutes before walking out the prison doors on his release date. This timing was symbolic—his story wasn’t just about survival, but about carrying forward a blueprint for change into the outside world. Growth comes when people rediscover their identity and clarify their direction. Purpose follows when they create actionable, measurable steps to live differently. This progression is universal. It applies to those in recovery or reentry, but also to leaders facing burnout, professionals at a crossroads, or anyone who simply wants to live with greater clarity and intention. Wednesday Wisdom Today’s guest, Davis Bain, is an author, chronic condition advocate, neurofeedback specialist, and graduate school counseling student whose life changed overnight during his senior year of college when a sudden injury led to Post-Concussion Syndrome. Davis is passionate about helping Chronic Pain Warriors and their loved ones feel seen, understood, and less alone and has dedicated himself in his ongoing work in neurofeedback and counseling. From Friction to Flow with Grant Harris
Tough Love Thursday! A message you may not want to hear, but need to. From Friction to Flow with Grant Harris Buckle up, this is not the conversation you might think it is. Today’s guest, Grant Harris, is a globally recognized neuroinclusive performance strategist and speaker who shifts organizations from friction to flow by fixing their process, not their people, so they can save time, keep talent, and deliver value by redesigning how work gets done at scale. Grant’s work starts with a simple truth: most performance challenges aren’t people problems; they’re process problems. Through a human-centered performance lens, he shows how everyday systems, meetings, roles, decision-making, and expectations either enable execution or quietly undermine it. As a late-diagnosed autistic person, author, introvert, and certified diversity executive, Grant brings both lived experience and enterprise-level rigor to his work with clients. He translates complex ideas about human cognition into clear, execution-ready insights leaders can apply immediately without turning the conversation into advocacy or awareness training. Grant is the founder and president of GTH Consulting, a minority- and disability-owned consultancy working within complex organizations. His experience spans federal agencies, higher education, global enterprises, and nonprofit systems where execution, accountability, and scale matter. His approach is known for being clear, grounded, and immediately actionable so organizations improve processes and performance. Selected clients include The Washington Post, the Federal Railroad Administration, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Loudoun County Government, Leadership Snohomish County, ASICS, and First Place Arizona. Grant holds a BA in Psychology, an MBA in Organizational Psychology & Development, and a post-master’s certificate in Educational Leadership & Administration. When Everything Falls Apart: Finding Faith in the Fire with Dr. Ken Kaufman
Wednesday Wisdom When Everything Falls Apart: Finding Faith in the Fire with Dr. Ken Kaufman Today’s guest, Dr. Ken Kaufman, is a speaker, author, and former sports medicine entrepreneur with over 30 years of experience working with high-level athletes and active adults. But his most powerful message didn’t come from success—it came from collapse, including the death of his wife. After decades of building a thriving practice, Ken walked through a season where everything unraveled—business, finances, and identity. In that process, his faith was stripped down and rebuilt on a deeper foundation. We talk about what do you do when prayer isn’t answered. We dive into Faith vs. Fear. Ken shares why working harder, planning better, ego driven success and purpose left him still feeling empty inside. We even talk about how fire comes before revelation. Now, through his book Spiritual Endurance: Faith Forged in the Fire, Ken delivers a compelling message about trusting God beyond circumstances, finding purpose in adversity, and becoming stronger through life’s hardest seasons. Our conversation today is going to leave you challenged, encouraged, and equipped to endure—and grow—through whatever you are facing. From Olympic Trials Swimmer to C-Suite Advisor with Michaela Mickey Anderson
TACO Tuesday! Take Action Crush Obstacles Today’s guest has gone from Olympic Trials Swimmer to Co-Founder of LoyaltyOps™, an operational advisory firm that installs the structural foundation that keeps execution strong as organizations grow. She was responsible for doubling the growth of a leading fitness company every year for 3 years and is the founder of 2 companies and working with multimillion dollar organizations to grow even stronger and better. Since then, she co-founded LoyaltyOps™ with her husband, a retired Tier 1 Assaulter in the Special Missions Unit. Together, they have spent their careers studying one question: how do capable people execute reliably when the pressure is real, and the margin for error is small? Today we talk about leaders who are challenged with: “You hired a team to take work off your plate. The work keeps coming back. Here's what's stacking up on your desk this week.Decisions waiting on you because no one else can settle them.Cross-team issues ending up on your desk because no one else can broker them. The standards you set in the leadership meeting not surviving the week. The strategic work you wanted to do this quarter slipping to next quarter. The same problems showing up over and over, just with different names.Your day starting with your plan, and by ten, running on your team's problems. You feel it happening, and the cause is the operations the business needs but hasn't grown into yet.” (from Loyalty Ops homepage) Buckle up, we had a GREAT conversation! Tough Love Thursday! Easy Hard vs Hard Hard with Dr. Bobby Shelton
Tough Love Thursday! A message you may not want to hear, but need to. Most people think they have a motivation problem. Today’s guest says that’s not true—they have a self-leadership problem. From a high school tuba player to a Doctorate in Strategic Leadership (DSL), Bobby Shelton has spent years studying why high-performing individuals still struggle with consistency, alignment, and follow-through. Bobby is the author of Easy Hard vs. Hard Hard and the host of The Self-Leadership Lab. He helps people understand why they struggle to follow through, why their habits don’t match their beliefs, and how to build the kind of internal discipline that actually holds up under pressure. If you’ve ever felt stuck despite knowing what to do, this conversation is going to challenge the way you think about growth. His conclusion is simple but uncomfortable: most people aren’t lacking information; they’re lacking internal authority. Through his work and his podcast, The Self-Leadership Lab, Bobby explores what it actually means to govern your inner world so your outer life reflects your convictions. His approach blends practical discipline, decision-making frameworks, and deeper philosophical insights rooted in both Stoic thought and faith. Bobby doesn’t focus on hype or temporary motivation. Instead, he helps audiences understand: Why motivation fails under pressure How to build standards that don’t change with emotion The difference between “Easy Hard” and “Hard Hard” decisions. Why self-leadership, not hacks, is the foundation of real growth His conversations are known for being thoughtful, challenging, and immediately applicable, leaving listeners with both clarity and a call to action. Today we go deeper into discipline, ego, faith, emotions, life as vanity, life as suffering and life as love and little reconciling stoicism with the Christian faith. Buckle up, you need to hear this conversation. If this conversation resonated, you can share it with someone you know who needs to hear it as well. Want to learn more? Check out Bobby’s website https://easyhardvshardhard.com Check out this episode and all our episodes here: https://www.thewarriorservantleaderpodcast.com/ connect with me on social media, @patwelshjd And remember, always strive to do the Right thing, at the Right time, the Right way and for the Right reason, that is the path of the true Warrior, Servant, Leader.

Life After Cancer: A Compelling Conversation with Rob Sullivan
The worst news ever turned out to be an “absolute blessing” for Rob Ryan Sullivan. On his 48th birthday – on Feb. 18, 2015 – Sullivan received news from his doctor that he had lymphoma in the form of massive tumors on his heart and in his neck. Six months and several rounds of chemotherapy later, Sullivan was cured and he had the experience that led to the last chapter of his second book, “A Trek Within: Following Your Inner Compass.” He had been working on the book for almost a decade, and his journey with cancer tied the entire book together. The book, which is a collection of experiences that changed the way Sullivan views spirituality, the world and his place in it, was officially released in early December 2023. “When you’re going through things, you have to roll with it,” said Sullivan, a professional speaker and coach who has worked more than 70 nationally- and internationally-known organizations including Motorola, Northwestern University, McDonald’s and the University of Michigan. “And I’ve learned there this nothing that says you can’t incorporate your passions into a scenario where you’re living to work rather than working to live.” Sullivan also recently launched SulliVanZyl, an international coaching and consulting company, that also features Barry van Zyl, an internationally recognized drummer, consultant and educator based in South Africa. “We want people to open up to the magic that’s in the world,” Sullivan said. “There’s so much amazing stuff out there if you just pay attention. I’m convinced we miss opportunities at every turn, and most of the time it’s simply because we’re not aware.” For example, Sullivan gets his entrepreneurial spirit from his grandfather, who was a successful soy bean trader, and his great-grandfather, Billy Sullivan Sr., who won a World Series as a catcher with the 1906 White Sox and was the inventor of the inflatable chest protector for catchers. Sullivan said his great-grandfather eventually wound up selling the patent for the protector, which he received in 1908, to a company that would become a major sporting goods business. Today we talk about resignation vs. contentment; negative and positive self-fulfilling mindsets, stoicism and more! Join us for a great frank and encouraging conversation. Behavioral Threat Assessment, Because Violence Isn't Random with Robert Mahony
TACO Tuesday! Take Action Crush Obstacles Most people think violence is unpredictable and random. This is not true at all. In fact, there is a scientifically proven pathway that all perpetrators of violence follow. This process can actually be interrupted, if you know what to look for. Concerning behaviors often show themselves well before even the threat of an attack is displayed. Unfortunately, too many municipalities and organizations lean on "protection" and "preparedness/response" measures rather than "prevention" measures to try and disrupt these threats and attacks. Today’s guest’s work focuses on demonstrating that by taking proactive prevention actions that are focused in a human centric methodology we can create safer communities. These "prevention" measures are multidisciplinary and can be used for a wide range of societal risk factors not just for violence. Today, he gives us 3-4 concrete signs to look for to keep their communities safe. Today’s guest is Robert Mahoney, a leading expert in Behavioral Threat Assessment (BTA) and the Founder of TVTP Solutions. He specializes in helping communities transition from reactive security to proactive prevention. Through his work, he empowers educators, law enforcement, and mental health professionals to collaborate on identifying the 'pathway to violence' and interrupting it through evidence-based strategies. Robert is the first to tell you, this is not about profiling or even risk factors – it is about identifying abnormalities to our senses. Because “random acts of violence” are anything but random. This is about situational awareness and knowing what to do next. Join us as Robert shares a wealth of information and experience from the world of targeted violence and terrorism prevention (TVTP). Don't Sweat It, They Said, Just Drink More Water with Jennifer Martinez
It's Tough Love Thursday! A message you may not want to hear, but need to. You know, we spend a lot of time talking about leadership, resilience, stress, performance, and mental toughness, but sometimes we overlook the most basic truth of all - if your body is running on empty, eventually everything else starts breaking down too. My guest today is Jennifer Martinez, CEO of JMAR Solutions, and she’s on a mission to help people understand that hydration is about a whole lot more than just drinking more water. We’re talking about focus, decision making, stress management, recovery, mental clarity, and being able to show up better - not just on the job, but at home with the people who matter most. Jennifer comes from a sports medicine background and works with high demand professions, first responders, and organizations operating in tough environments where heat, stress, fatigue, and pressure are constant realities. She helps teams learn how to restore the body before it hits the wall. And this isn’t just professional for her… it’s personal. Being married to a police sergeant gave her a front row seat to how physical depletion and chronic stress can affect not only performance on the street, but patience, mood, relationships, and overall wellbeing at home. Because the truth is, when people are exhausted, dehydrated, stressed out, and mentally foggy, everybody around them feels it. Today, we’re going to talk about how taking better care of yourself physically can improve your mindset, your mental sharpness, your leadership, your relationships, and your ability to keep showing up strong in every area of life. A Little Wednesday Wisdom with Meridith Alexander, Go Epic Now!
You know when we have all of these big dreams of how "epic" our life will be a few years down the road and then we wake up one day feeling like we're nowhere close to what we had imagined? Maybe we're feeling like our life is missing joy, passion or purpose -- or maybe we got the "stuff" but something is still missing. Our guest today, Meridith Alexander, had her “walk around this lovely planet” explode when she got the call that her youngest daughter had been crushed by a boulder while hiking in South America and was not expected to survive. She jumped on a plane and headed south. Her focus since then became transforming the impossible into the “I’m Possible” and how to teach ordinary people that they are capable of achieving EPIC things that seem totally “unrealistic” when they know how to fuse their inner game with the outer game. In fact, she believes that it's thanks to these "impossible" boulders that come into our ordinary lives that we can transform them into epic lives. Meridith is a best-selling author, powerhouse mompreneur and top female motivational speaker who has become known for inspiring high-level professionals and entrepreneurs to venture beyond the place where their beliefs stop them -- all thanks to a plummeting boulder that changed her "old normal" into the destiny that she embraces today. She challenges you to explore the boundaries of endless possibilities, positive expectations and deliberate creation. With the remarkable life and death challenges that were laid firmly at her feet, she learned that it's these tiny individual seeds of Greatness that live waiting to be cultivated within our own minds. Then, as we master our own mindset and discover the real beauty within our own story, we become free to empower others and to go on to create "impossible" things. Go Epic isn’t just a slogan for Meridith, it is her life. A Cornell study showed that 76% of us will look back on our lives and regret that we never went after those big dreams. That’s a scary statistic and today she is here to share her story and hopes to insure that you aren’t part of that 76%. T.L.T. Pentecost Is Not Just Another Holy Day with Host, Pat Welsh
It's Tough Love Thursday, the day we share some messages you may not want to hear, but need to. Buckle up! As we near the end of the Easter season in the Roman Catholic Church, we will be celebrating Pentecost Sunday. Many think this Sunday merely ends Easter and we can go back to a spiritual life as usual as we await Christmas in December. Well, here is some tough love news for you. Pentecost is not just another holy day. It ranks up there, in a scripture sense, with Moses and the Ten Commandments, coming down off Mt. Sinai. In fact, it is greater than that. On Pentecost the believers received the Holy Spirit, the Israelites got 2 stone tablets. Pentecost is the beginning of the Roman Catholic Church. It is the beginning of the Great Commission to spread the Good News, Gospel, to the ends of the world. It was the infusion of the 7 Gifts of the Holy Spirit into the people of God. In other words, it was the biggest thing since the Resurrection that happened 50 days earlier. It was a promise fulfilled and the day over, 3,000 people came to believe in Jesus. Take a few minutes to listen to the tough love message I share, reflect on it and rise up and go. Get out there and live the life of a Warrior, Servant, Leader that you were created to live. Quit being a spectator and get in the world arena and spread the Good News. Like, Comment, Share. Follow Pat on LinkedIn, Instagram and Subsatck @patwelshjd

Tough Love Thursday: Get Permanently Unstuck with Coach Richard Jack III
It's T.L.T. (Tough Love Thursday) A message you may not want to hear, but need to! Buckle Up! Most high performers don’t burn out from pressure — they burn out from misalignment. They don’t crash dramatically — they drift quietly. It’s a slow erosion: The identity they’ve outgrown. The expectations they carry. The responsibilities that never end. The success that looks impressive but feels heavy. That quiet internal conflict — the one high achievers hide behind achievement — is the exact space where Richard Jack III (Coach Jack) does his deepest work. Here’s what clients say about Coach Jack: “Direct, grounded, and impossible to hide from.” “The coach who sees the truth behind the performance.” “More precise than any therapist, coach, or consultant I’ve worked with.” “The one person who can connect identity, psychology, and leadership in a way that actually shifts results.” THE WEIGHT OF LEADERSHIP — AND WHY IT BREAKS PEOPLE Leadership has an emotional cost. Performance has a psychological cost. Success has a spiritual cost. Most people ignore those costs until something cracks. Coach Jack helps leaders see the fracture before it becomes a break. Coach Jack is the creator of the CEI Ecosystem — Clarity, Execution, Impact — a clarity-driven operating system built to help people think clearly, execute with purpose, and create sustainable momentum in their lives and careers. For Richard, alignment isn’t a concept — it’s the root cause behind why people rise, stall, or spiral. In his work with leaders across industries, one truth has surfaced again and again: People don’t get stuck because they lack ambition. They get stuck because they’re out of alignment with who they’re becoming. Their identity is in one place. Their behavior is in another. Their responsibilities are in a third. And the gap between those worlds produces burnout, confusion, and stalled potential. Richard’s mission is simple: close that gap — permanently. This link gives listeners free access to Coach Jack’s Clarity Assessment—an executive-level tool that helps you instantly identify where your life or leadership is out of alignment. In less than five minutes, you will see exactly which patterns are holding you back and what to shift next. It’s designed to create immediate awareness, a sense of direction, and a starting point for real transformation. You will walk away with clarity you can feel. https://www.rj3consultants.com/clarity-assessment Follow us on social media @patwelshjd, https://www.thewarriorservantleaderpodcast.com Download, Like and Share this, and all our episodes, with someone who needs to hear this message today. When The Heart Calls, Don't Ignore It with Jazzmyn Lauff
Wednesday Wisdom Edition If success is measured by accomplishments, material possessions, and stable relationships then, as a successful business woman, mother and partner, today’s guest should have been happy and fulfilled. But like many a shiny apple, you need to cut it open to see the worms and rot inside. Despite the outer trappings of success she couldn’t shake the growing angst and depression that accompanied the weight of imposter syndrome. For far too long Ishe had ignored the signs to course correct - lacking the courage to change - until the death of her son, on her birthday and Thanksgiving Day to boot, shook the very foundation of her existence. But it was too much to fast, so she doubled-down the only way she knew how - focusing on her career and accomplishments. When the call to change came again, a decade later it was unmistakable and undeniable. Answering the call felt like a reckoning with her soul - a do or die moment. So she left a successful career, ended misaligned relationships, and gave away most of her belongings to prioritize her health and rediscover who she was without noise, performance, or external expectations. Jazzmyn Lauff is now a podcast host, guest, and transformational mentor in service to those who are called to up-level their story and rewrite their identity from the inside out - realigning, reclaiming, and redesigning their most authentic lives. Today we tackle some tough questions and get some authentic answers: How do you change when you don’t know how or where to go? What are the signs Jazzmyn ignored early on? What was that 2nd call that finally got your attention? For someone sensing that quiet inner summons but afraid to act, what would you say about the relationship between courage and consciousness? Go here to learn more and to contact Jazzmyn: https://www.whentheheartcalls.com/ Be sure to share this episode with someone you know who needs to hear it. Grow In The Dark with Sean Hayden
Special Edition of a Wednesday Wisdom! Sean Hayden's life reads like a story that couldn't have been written without God. He started his career as an engineer at Boeing, working on power systems for rockets, satellites, and lasers — including NASA's Space Launch System. But his path took a hard turn when he felt called to leave engineering behind, move his family across the country, and step into entrepreneurship with nothing but faith and a willingness to follow God's leading. That leap led him through some of the hardest seasons of his life — near-death experiences including a tangled parachute and motorcycle crashes, the uncertainty of uprooting his family from New Mexico to California and eventually settling in Kentucky, building a digital marketing agency from the ground up, and walking through his son's miraculous healing. Along the way Sean has worn a lot of hats — aerospace engineer, digital marketer, agency owner, options and futures trader. He'll be the first to tell you he's made serious money in the markets and lost serious money in the markets, and that every one of those experiences taught him something about faith, risk, and trusting God when the outcome isn't guaranteed. Today Sean lives with his wife Brooke, their five kids, a dog, a cat, and 10 chickens — and is currently building his family's dream home from the ground up on a 150-acre property called Hayden Haven, running an excavator himself to make it happen. Through every twist, God was there. Today we chat about Sean’s journey – the dark times and the bright times. From designing rockets to a spiritual revival – and why Sean doesn’t get worked up when things seem to all be going wrong. Sean’s story of learning how to trust God before a breakthrough comes is both inspiring and doable in our own lives. Enough With The Secrets, Mama! with Lin Green
Today’s guest is Lin Green — an award-winning community advocate, columnist, author, speaker, and business and nonprofit consultant. Lin didn’t start out with a polished plan — she started out with a strong willed Matriarch of a Mother. And oh boy, did she give Lin a ton of material. Her memoir, Enough with the Secrets, Mama!, is about the messy, hilarious, heartbreaking, and ultimately redemptive journey of trying to survive a complicated mother-daughter relationship while breaking generational patterns most of us would rather ignore. Part immigrant family story, part self-help disguised as a memoir, and part “please tell me I’m not the only one,” the book takes readers from cultural shifts and childhood chaos to the moment when you decide you’re done waiting for permission — and give yourself grace instead. Lin helps individuals, organizations, and communities turn adversity into growth by breaking generational cycles, strengthening mindset, and leading with faith, intention, and values-driven strategy. Her work bridges personal healing with sustainable impact, encouraging people to live, lead, and build with purpose. Welcome Lin! It's Always Too Soon To Quit! with Jay Setchell
The Strength Within You: It’s Always to Soon to Quit! Multiple deaths & near death experiences. 73 Surgeries. Paralysis. Faith / Hope / Prayer. Everyone carries a strength inside them, often without even knowing it’s there. The key is learning to tap into that strength when life demands it. Sometimes it comes from lessons we’ve picked up along the way. Other times, it shows up in the moment, surprising even us. Jay has often asked himself: "Where does my inner strength come from?" The truth is, it’s not from just one place. He credits his upbringing shaping him: parents, grandparents, neighbors, teachers, faith, and friends all left their mark. The discipline and structure of the Marine Corps drilled into him a commitment to every cause he took on. Years of pain, frustration, and setbacks gave him a relentless determination to get back up and keep going. His successes fueled his drive, and even his failures gave him fire to keep pushing forward. What Jay learned is simple but powerful: "I can’t expect my future to be handed to me by someone else. It’s my responsibility." Listen to Jay's inspiring story of from death and near death experiences to a life of meaning and purpose. Contact Jay here: [email protected]

Free Speech, Retaliation, and the Cost of Integrity: The Story of Fire Chief Erik Holt
Free Speech, Retaliation, and the Cost of Integrity: The Story of Fire Chief Erik Holt This story began in April 2022, Erik Holt left federal service at Ft. Carson, CO, after 18 years to raise his daughters and accepted the Fire Chief position at a small rural department in Colorado. Within a year, with the support of an outstanding board and dedicated personnel, he and his staff transformed the fire department from 5 to over 60 trained, qualified, and dedicated personnel. Then came the May 2023 election. For the first time, all five board seats were up for election. Chief Holt received complaints from citizens regarding irregularities at the polls. He personally sat down and reviewed 48 hours of surveillance footage and discovered clear evidence of coordinated election misconduct. I Chief Holt asked himself the four questions we always talk about on the WSL Podcast: what is the right thing to do, when to do it, how to doit and what are the reasons for doing it? He followed his legal and moral obligation and reported the findings to the District Attorney’s office. That decision changed everything. When free speech, retaliation, and corruption tried to take test his integrity, Chief Holt stood his ground and suffered great consequences. Hear his full story on today’s episode of the WSL Podcast. And the story isn’t even over, yet!
