Kingdom Lens--The Identity Crisis

from Restoration: Where New Life Begins

Episode 3 Recap — The Identity CrisisIn this episode, we tackled one of the biggest questions of our time: Who am I?We began in Genesis 1:26–27, where Scripture reveals that every person is made in the image of God. This means our worth is not built on appearance, achievement, or approval—it comes from the Creator Himself. Being male and female is part of God’s good design, and our very existence carries divine purpose. We then looked at Genesis 3, where sin fractured that identity. Instead of living securely as God’s image-bearers, humanity turned inward and tried to define identity apart from God. The result was shame, insecurity, and endless searching for worth in fragile places—career, looks, relationships, and even shifting desires. But the story doesn’t end there. In Ephesians 2:1–10, Paul describes how God restores our identity through Jesus. Though we were dead in sin, God, rich in mercy, made us alive in Christ. We are saved by grace, not works, and we are called His workmanship—His masterpiece—created for good works prepared beforehand. We then explored what it means to actually live from that identity:Confidence instead of insecurity.Purpose instead of aimlessness.Freedom instead of fear.Integrity instead of compromise.Compassion instead of comparison.Hope instead of despair. The bottom line is this: Identity is not something you create—it’s something you receive. You are not defined by your past, your performance, or people’s opinions. You are who God says you are: His beloved child, His workmanship, alive in Christ, saved by grace, and secure forever in His love.Support the show
