The slave girl who operated from a spirit of divination was a fortune-teller and spoke of Paul and Silas; “These men are the servants of the Most High God, who proclaim to us the way of salvation.” A python spirit or a spirit of divination may have a form of accuracy, yet its source is of the devil. The slave girl in Acts 16:16 was inspired by the occult. She gained her insight by being entangled with a demonic spirit. Those who involve themselves in astrology, crystals, burning sage, tarot cards and the like, are all being seduced by the demonic realm. The Bible forbids this type of activity in Deuteronomy 18:10 for a good reason.
