Im 8. Jahrhundert entstand im Ort eine Taufkirche, die dann in der Romanik durch ein Gotteshaus aus Tuffquadern ersetzt wurde. Spuren davon sind in dem heutigen Gotteshaus noch immer erhalten, vor allem ein Rundbogen- und Zahnschnittfries. 1649/50 wurde das Langhaus neu gebaut.
