The race for Mason County Commissioner District 3 now has six candidates after Shelton City Councilmember Eric Inesko filed with GOP as his preferred party, while incumbents Patty McLean (Assessor), Jamie Taylor (Coroner), and Michael Dorsey (Prosecutor) all filed yesterday to retain their seats.A structure fire at a home on the 1500 block of Fairmont Avenue in the Hillcrest neighborhood was knocked down in about 10 minutes by Central Mason Fire and EMS with mutual aid from South Mason, with one person transported to Mason General Hospital for possible smoke inhalation.Mason County's unemployment rate dropped to 5.8 percent in March, down four-tenths of a point from February's revised rate of 6.2 percent, according to the state Employment Security Department.Cloudy skies and a high of 61 today with no rain in sight, drying out and warming up heading into Mother's Day weekend.In local sports: The Mariners fell to the Braves 3-2 yesterday and are back at it today with pregame at noon and first pitch at 1:10 right here on KMAS.
