Regulasi sistem ini bukan tambahan melainkan menggantikan sistem konsesi lama MotoGP yang referensi penerapannya berdasarkan poin pembalap. Pada sistem konsesi lama, tidak akan mungkin satu pabrikan memperoleh konsesi saat pembalapnya meraih podium atau kemenangan dalam satu balapan kering. Namun dalam sistem baru ini kondisi memperoleh podium atau bahkan kemenangan seperti yang diraih Honda dan atau Yamaha di 2023 tetap memungkinkan kedua pabrikan Jepang ini mendapatkan kemudahan konsesi selama musim 2024. Di sistem konsesi terbaru, update status konsesi tidak hanya mengenai pabrikan 'terlemah', namun juga 'pabrikan terkuat'.
