Korach - Exchanging Strife for Joy
from Breslov Therapy · host Meir Elkabas
In Parshat Korach, Korach’s rebellion against Aharon reveals the danger of lacking simcha (joy) and being unable to accept one’s portion. The Zohar teaches that Korach wanted to exchange left and right—placing the Levi’im (Levites), associated with gevurah (strength/restraint), in the place of the Kohanim (priests), associated with chesed (kindness) and berachah (blessing). Rebbe Nachman explains that this type of exchange comes from the Heichal HaTemurot (Chamber of Exchanges), where confusion makes jealousy and strife look like righteousness. Aharon, by contrast, merited the Kehunah (priesthood) because of his joy in Moshe’s greatness, showing that simcha activates berachah and opens the way to the Keter and Hashem’s Infinite Light. The lesson is to choose the path of Aharon—peace, humility and joy in serving Hashem—rather than the path of Korach, where jealousy and dissatisfaction lead to machloket (strife). This class is based on Likutey Moharan lesson 24.For more on this lesson: linktr.ee/breslovtherapy_lesson_24If you have been inspired by this class/lecture please share it with your friends.
