Kraig Boynton and Phil Dickinson, Taste of Galesburg — 40 years and a record 28 restaurants

Phil Dickinson was there for the first Taste of Galesburg — eight or 10 restaurants sweating it out behind the high school — and he fought hard against the move to Thursday nights that made the event what it is. "The first year I got slapped in the face hard with the reality of I didn't know what I was doing," he admits. "I was wrong." Forty years later, he and lead organizer Kraig Boynton preview the biggest Taste ever, and Boynton reveals this one will be his last in charge.
