कटुवचनं न युक्तम्

कस्यचित् मठस्य व्यवस्थापकः कञ्चित् युवकं चन्दनस्य उद्घर्षणं क्रियताम् इति आदिशत् । प्रतिवचनं किमपि अनुक्त्वा सः उद्घर्षणं कुर्वन् रामनामजपम् अकरोत् । किञ्चित् कालानन्तरम् अज्ञाततया अग्निसूक्तपठनम् आरब्धम् । तावता चन्दनलेपः सिद्धः आसीत् । वेदज्ञाः तद् लिप्तवन्तः, किन्तु तेषां देहे तापः अभवत् । व्यवस्थापकः युवकं क्षमां प्रार्थितवान्, युवकः वरुणसूक्तम् अपठत् । ततः वेदज्ञाः शीतलताम् अनुभूतवन्तः । एषः युवकः 'राघवेन्द्राचार्यः' इति ख्यातः अभवत्।(“केन्द्रीयसंस्कृतविश्वविद्यालयस्य अष्टादशीयोजनान्तर्गततया एतासां कथानां ध्वनिप्रक्षेपणं क्रियते”)The manager of a certain monastery instructed a young man to grind sandalwood. Without saying anything in response, he began the grinding while chanting the name of Lord Rama. After a while, he unknowingly started reciting the Agni Suktam. By the time the sandalwood paste was ready, the scholars who applied it felt heat on their bodies. The manager asked the young man for forgiveness and the young man recited the Varuna Suktam. Then, the scholars experienced a cooling effect. This young man became famous as 'Raghavendra Swami'.
