Kyle Sumatzkuku & Duane Humeyestewa introduce themselves in a traditional Hopi way...

from Radio Aula Mundi · host Radio Aula Mundi

Kyle Sumatzkuku is a young endurance runner practicing long-standing  Hopi traditions of running as a spiritual practice to connect with the  land and surroundings. His dream has always been to run at the  Boston Marathon, which was previously scheduled for April 2020 and was  postponed because of the COVID-19 pandemic. To help pay for the trip  to Boston, Sumatzkuku has launched a GoFundMe campaign, with the hope  of raising funds to cover the 2,550 mile trip from Moenkopi, Arizona, to  Boston, Massachusetts. Hopi filmmaker Duane Humeyestewa is tracking  Sumatzkuku on his journey to Boston with a documentary project. He is  currently based in Austin, Texas.
