KZN Transport Department calls on "SA National Taxi Council to take full responsibility" after scholar transport driver fled scene of serious car accident

from Update@Noon · host SAfm

The KwaZulu-Natal Transport Department says a search is underway for the driver of a schoolar transport vehicle that was involved in this morning's accident in the province's Midlands. Authorities say the driver fled the scene after the vehicle veered off the road and plunged off the KwaKhetha bridge, near Impendle. The accident left at least 20 learners seriously injured. This is the third crash involving a learner transport in the Umgungundlovu District, in less than a week. Five learners died in a similar crash last Thursday, with others remaining in hospital. Sakina Kamwendo spoke to Spokesperson for the KZN Transport Department, Ndabezinhle Sibiya.
