La evolución del cero.

Un grupo de investigadores de las universidades de Melbourne, en Australia, y de Toulouse, en Francia, estudian si nuestro insecto favorito, la abeja melífera, es capaz de comprender el concepto de cero. Las abejas son una de las escasas especies de animales invertebrados que poseen la capacidad del lenguaje. Para estudiar este asunto, los investigadores realizan una serie de ingeniosísimos experimentos, en los que son capaces de entrenar a las abejas para identificar imágenes que contienen diferentes cantidades (de uno a cuatro) de cuadrados negros de distintos tamaños. Pueden escoger entre la imagen con mayor o menor número de cuadrados y si aciertan reciben una recompensa.
