Molto importante il ruolo di molte nobili famiglie romane che hanno contribuito con cospicue somme di denaro, oppure offrendo nascondigli sicuri. Ricordiamo il contributo, anche di vite umane, del personale civile aeronautica con 3 caduti nella Banda Ferraris.
