If you have woken up carrying something from yesterday, take a moment before the day begins. Perhaps yesterday was difficult. Perhaps something went wrong, someone disappointed you, or there is something you wish you could change. You may even be wondering how you are going to face another day. But this morning brings something precious: you have not been forgotten by God, and His mercy has not run out. Lamentations 3:22–23 says, “Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning.” Father, thank You for this new morning. Thank You that yesterday does not have to decide what today will become. Where our hearts are still carrying yesterday’s weight, help us place it into Your hands. Give us fresh courage, fresh hope and the grace to begin again. Lord Jesus, this morning we pray for people and communities across the United Kingdom, Japan, New Zealand, Singapore, South Africa and Germany. Meet families as they begin their day. Strengthen those facing difficult circumstances, comfort those who woke with heavy hearts, and give wisdom to those who already know that today will bring important decisions. Let people discover that Your mercy reaches them wherever they are. Holy Spirit, help us receive this morning as a gift rather than a burden. We don’t need to know everything that today will bring. We simply need to walk into it with Jesus. Yesterday is in Your hands, today is before us, and our future is not outside Your care. Fear will not win, because God’s mercy is new this morning.
