Así, lo decretó el Beethoven Jubiläums GmbH, órgano encargado de organizar los actos del aniversario. Iniciamos este año entonces recordando a Beethoven y preguntándonos...Beethoven inventó el jazz? Si bien es cierto que esta interrogante ha circulado por internet durante varios años, evidentemente la respuesta es no. Sin embargo, lo que si es cierto es que lo que hizo este compositor fue utilizar algunos elementos musicales que se convertirían en piedras angulares del estilo jazzístico, 110 años después. Hoy, escucharemos de manos del pianista y director Daniel Barenboim el 1er movimiento de la Sonata 1 y la variación 3 del 2do movimiento de la Sonata 32 de Beethoven.
