Laura Lee's Sin Bin - McDonalds Netherlands

from WAPL Mornings with Laura Lee & Cutter · host Laura Lee and Cutter

Did you know that AI has a significantly higher environmental cost per query than traditional a Google Search? This is due to intensive computation, requiring vast energy and water for cooling data centers, leading to increased emissions. That's probably one of the reasons people didn't like when McDonalds released a Christmas commerical created entirely with AI. They've taken it down but you can go and find it. It's.... garbage. The kicker is the company who created it said it took seven weeks to make it. SEVEN weeks. If you take the time to check out the commercial, 7 weeks is laughable. I could create something that bad on an AI app on my phone in 7 minutes. McDonalds, for jumping into the deep end of AI when they could of done a lot better using a lot less valuable enviromental resources, should feel shame, shame, shame.
