The story follows Janie whois hired to coordinate an outdoor event, which she soon realizes is anenigmatic celebration of life ceremony for a beloved family member of aclose-knit community. As Janie navigates this foreign environment, shewitnesses the family's intense grief and the beautiful ways they come togetherto honor the life of their loved one. In the family’s grief, they choose tocelebrate their loved one through a very uncommon choice that comes as a shockto Janie.
