Leadership as a skill doesn't work unless its tethered to your heartset

In Hold on to Your Kids by Gabor Mate, he says that parenting techniques do not work unless there is attachment. I believe the same to be true in leadership. Our people need to FEEL that we care and have their best interests to heart before any techniques we might learn on a leadership development course become effective. So leaders, make sure you are tether to your heartset first.
