Jerry L. Rhoads, CPA, HEALTH CARE ADMINISTRATOR AND PUBLISHED AUTHOR. 84 November 23, 2023. Jerry L. Rhoads, a CPA, graduate of Simpson College with a degree in Liberal Arts, and Business Administration, a licensed health care administrator, a published author. He was a health care consultant with Arthur Andersen Co. He was licensed as a health care administrator. He was born in Indianola, Iowa, November 23, 1939, and has been married to Sharon White Rhoads for 63 years, has four children, twelve grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and is retired, but continues to write poetry, scripts for his podcast, blogs, and his websites, play tennis, dance with his wife, take photos of the family, and enjoy the Arts. He, his wife, and son owned two skilled nursing facilities in Iowa and one in Arkansas. He has invented, with the help of his son, Artificial Intelligence (AI) software for managing the restorative processes for the elderly so they can be returned to the community. The author has also been consultant to State and Federal Government agencies for devising payment methods for health care providers, and served on numerous committees developing legislation for long term care, and testified before legislative committees as an expert witness. The author has worked for Arthur Andersen & Co., a large public accounting firm, been a partner in two CPA firms, and has owned and successfully run his own CPA businesses for 37 years. During that time, he started a CPA firm specializing in health care, and added management consulting, and software development to the services offered principally to nursing homes, and small hospitals.  Over the years his expertise in Medicare and Medicaid led him to nationally representing long term care Association members in proposed legislation, and quality improvement methods for the operators of those small businesses. And as a consultant to Federal HCFA, State governors regarding Medicare, and Medicaid pricing, funding, and quality improvement. Resulting in him becoming a licensed Nursing Home Administrator as a management consultant to long term care organizations, acting as on-site administrator in two projects, and consultant in 140 others in 22 different states.  He has written extensively and presented seminars and nationally at conventions in 22 different states. He has six books published on the subject that he terms Self-Health books, proposing that the solution to funding America’s declining health and escalating cost is to have each individual be responsible for making their own health and welfare decisions. Five political books, One nove,l and Five poetry books called the Wonders of the World of human beings.   BUSINESS EXPERIENCE: Multi-millionaire in businesses he formed around his inventions and entrepreneurial talents.
