The Leake County School District has confirmed that one of its employees is charged with committing a child sex crime. Superintendent Will Russell did not identify the employee or what the individual’s role within the district entailed, but confirmed that someone within the district had been charged with grooming of a child. 18-year-old murder suspect Mielun Butler was found deceased in his cell on Friday. Butler is accused of shooting Melvin Edwards to death back in June. Authorities believe Butler was killed as a means of avenging Edwards' death.
