The combined pressures of our day to day duties and other people's’ expectations can make us feel trapped or even drained of our energy. For the sake of our health and happiness, it is sometimes necessary to take a step back from it all and simply brethe and let go of your stresses . Our first caller, Amy, enjoys running marathons but is unable to find the same motivation to train for her latest race. Tune in and hear Nancy suggest that she surround herself with images and music that reminds her of the happy times she had running. Nancy lets her know that her loved ones can participate and give their support for her. Our second caller,Megan, is a recent graduate that feels spread too thin because of her 3 jobs and extra activities. She is unsure about what to do in an effort to stop over extending herself. Listen to Nancy coach her on prioritizing the things that are most important to her. Nancy encourages her to say no or defer some activities until she has more time. Our inspirational guest, Becky Olson, is a three time breast cancer survivor that has been recently diagnosed for a fourth time. Tune into her story of first discovering a tumor in her breast to her constant battling with cancer through the years. Although surrounded by hardships, Becky found the strength to smile thanks to her family. She shares with Nancy a story of her daughter dyeing her hair orange in an attempt to give her mother the blonde hair she always wanted before her eventual hair loss. The love surrounding her inspired her to start Breast Friends, a nonprofit organization that gives women with breast cancer much needed emotional support. Listen to Becky and Nancy discuss how their situations helped them appreciate others and their own strength. Nancy shares methods that have assisted ease her feelings of being overwhelmed. Nancy often times takes walks or showers that assist her in refreshing herself of worries. Nancy even suggests that the best way to put anxieties to rest is talking to another person. Asking someone about what is going on in their lives. This will put the focus on them and can give one’s mind a different outlet to relax.
