When he was 25, Norman lost his younger brother in a car accident and separated from his first wife. Norman decided to get back on his feet and process his grief by living with his mother and father. He refocused and found himself motivated to finish his associate degree in memory of his brother. Just as his life seemed to be going well, Norman was diagnosed with cancer at 47 and he initially beat it. Normalcy evaded him, however, when he found out cancer returned and that his second wife was having an affair. He would go on to ultimately win the war with the disease and publish a book titled Take Charge of your Cancer, but soon faced the passing of both his mother and father. Despite these trials, Norman found the peace he through mediation and was filled with gratitude that he had the opportunity to return home and care for his parents as they cared for him. Nancy recommends using LinkedIn as a resource to connect with established professionals and interview them about their career path to gain insight into possible jobs.
