Paul’s pattern of evangelism is preach, persecution, supernatural display of power, church plant. The only time he abandons the power is when he is in his natural element – Athens and intellectualism. This approach fails and he goes to Corinth where he explains that from now on his preaching will be with a demonstration of the power of God. This is still necessary today.
