Our team likes to have fun. We laugh a lot, we tell jokes, and generally, try to keep things light when we’re together. Despite our physical distance, we’re closer than most teams - we tend to share some of the ups and downs of life with one another. We also share goofy stuff too and tend to know random facts about one another.

On this episode of the podcast, you’re going to get an insiders look into our team. A few months ago, we were testing out new podcast equipment and decided we should have five of us on one episode. It ended up that I got to chat with Sara, Linda, Carrie, and Steph. Someone found a list of 50 questions you should ask kids, and we just started asking each other random question. We did this for three reasons:

  1. We believe strongly that teams who have fun together are more productive, and ultimately, stay together longer. We think this episode illustrates a little bit of that, and hope it will inspire you to find ways to keep things fun on your team.
  2. It shows how simple it is to get conversations going with your team members. Even a superficial starting question can lead to a much more in-depth discussion and ways of knowing one another.
  3. Strengths. At the end, we make the turn to talk about Strengths. It’s important to note that you can use whatever you have in front of you to make Strengths-based observations of people — even a list of 50 random questions.

Riold Furtuna After several positions and experiences I have become fascinated with the question: how can leaders start out on the right foot? In order to getting closer to answering this question, I set up the podcast series “inspire me!”. On each episode I interview leaders that have had and continue to have a great impact on society and have, directly or indirectly, inspired me and influenced my personal and professional choices. While we discuss the main topic of leadership, on each episode we’ll focus on subtopics, such as self-awareness, emotional intelligence, compassion, integrity, and persistence, to mention a few. My vision is to tap into the experience of these leaders and ultimately provide young and emerging leaders a compass for maximizing the impact we have in the world while being uncompromisingly ethical.
