Leaving the Ministry with Marshall Mead

from Truth Trauma Theology · host Kyle Spears

Going into the ministry is one of the most significant moments in a person's life. Leaving the ministry is an equally significant moment. There are more ministers leaving the ministry today than we've seen in recent history and we have a shortage of people entering the ministry. Ministry is challenging to say the least and yet it is something God values. Although there are ministers who have contributed to making things worse, there are many ministers who have made things better. There are many Spirit-led ministers who have the heart of Jesus who are contemplating leaving the ministry. Honestly, this is the last thing we need in churches. Marshall Meade is a journeyman who has been in ministry for decades and has left and returned several times. He joins the channel to share from his journey into and out of the ministry. 0:00 intro  8:43 What are some of the pressures that ministers face today?  18:00 How do social issues, politics, race, gender, generational issues affecting ministers?  28:00 What are some things that are misunderstood about being an evangelist?  40:00 Why is being a regular church member so beneficial for maturing ministers?  47:50 Is really okay if a person wants to get out of the ministry?
