Charbel Tasipale: Lebanon’s Fastest Security Guard ● Sporting Offload

From playing Rugby League for Parramatta and representing Lebanon at a World Cup to Castleford in the Super League and eventually One Playground — Charbel Tasipale has had one hell of a journey. I spoke to Charbel for two weeks about coming through the Eels system, playing for Lebanon, making the move overseas, life in rugby league, and what it's actually like chasing your dream in the game But obviously we couldn't have Charbel on without discussing the time the Lebanese jerseys were stolen at the World Cup… and the players turned into a makeshift security team to chase the bloke down. The best part? Charbel was the first one to catch him because he was the only one wearing shoes. From Lebanon to One Playground, this is a rugby league story with plenty of laughs, ridiculous moments, and a very questionable security operation.
