Rural counties in North Texas have become a hotspot for data center developments. Hundreds of people gathered in Glen Rose last night to talk about how data center development could affect the nearby Dinosaur Valley State Park. And while some North Texas communities have made efforts to stop – or at least slow – the growth of data centers, legal challenges are making it an uphill battle.It's getting to that point in the year where the summer heat here in North Texas is stifling. Those conditions can be dangerous and even deadly for folks who work outside or indoors without adequate air conditioning. Sharon Block, a former U-S Department of Labor official, talked to us about the regulations needed to keep workers safe in hot environments, and what's standing in the way of implementing those rules.
