Quan són ja ben a prop del poble, dos nois armats amb ganivets se les emporten cap a una roureda. Allà les comencen a degollar d'una en una. Tres d'elles van sobreviure, entre les quals, Maria Serra. El seu besnet, Joan Vilamala, ha reconstruït aquest triple crim en un llibre titulat "Les degollades de Folgueroles".
