Hi Course 48 hours later as promised! Professor North here! Thanks for reading CRITICAL's Substack! Subscribe for free to receive new posts and support my work. This is the initial assignment for Critical 102. What I have shared serves as an excellent illustration of a scientist who faced a ban from LinkedIn due to a scientific journal in which she began posting a series titled “Eyes Without a Face.” Many of you may recall the song by Billy Idol, “Eyes Without a Face.” This document presents a detailed account of the circumstances surrounding her ban, along with various other aspects of her professional journey and how it ultimately unfolded. I believe this serves as a significant example for the upcoming generation, who will undoubtedly seek answers regarding the events of 2021. They will be eager to understand what transpired, and our role is to preserve this historical context. I would like you to evaluate whether this scientist was justified in her assumptions and hypotheses, as well as her method of documentation. Additionally, consider whether you have experienced a ban from this social media platform, as she reportedly did. Furthermore, I have a surprise in store for you that may come as a shock, so let’s get started. I encourage thought-provoking responses and welcome individuals who are prepared to engage in constructive debate, all while maintaining kindness and consideration. We are addressing the critical questions: What constitutes information? How is it disseminated? Is it acceptable to think outside conventional boundaries? I extend a warm welcome to all of you. Welcome Aboard! This is a public episode. If you would like to discuss this with other subscribers or get access to bonus episodes, visit criticalthinkingfreecourse.substack.com
