Lessons From the Psalms - Psalm 19

from Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley · host Bill Kelley

Welcome to Lessons From the Psalms with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Psalm 19. Psalm 19 was written by King David (of Israel) and was originally written to be sung as a song during worship services. The first six verses talk about creation and the majesty of God. I am going to focus on verses 7-11. Verses 7-9 go over the six words referring to the law: law, testimony, statutes, commandment, fear and judgements. The six evaluations of the law are perfect, sure, right, pure, clean, and true. Finally, if we follow the law our souls will be converted, we will become wise, our heart will rejoice, our eyes will be enlightened, we will endure forever, and we will become righteous. Friends, there is nothing like the importance of knowing (and following) the Word of God. Finally, if we do adhere to the law our plea with God should culminate with verse 14: "Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart Be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my strength and my Redeemer."
