There are incidents of abuse that, as a society, we have become desensitized to because we have become numb to some particular acts of violence. We have heard so many tramatic events until nothing shocks us anymore but there are instances of, not the act, but the role of the perpretrator that now gives us uncertain feelings about whom we can trust. Someone in political office, school system, and the church should be regarded more stearnly when they cross the line from protector to perpetrator; but that is not always the case.
