Let's Talk Voting

The 15th Amendment, barring restrictions on voting based on race, color or previous condition of servitude was ratified in 1870. The 19th Amendment, barring gender restrictions for voting, was ratified on August 18, 1920. On August 6, 1965, the Voting Rights Act, prohibiting racial discrimination in voting was signed into law. September 22 is National Voter Registration Day. In this discussion with Lawson Wetli, co-President of the League of Women Voters in Greenville County, SC and the Voter Registration Chair of the Greenville Branch of the NAACP, we are talking about all things voting.  Registering if you have recently moved, checking your registration online to be sure everything is correct before election day. How do you register for an absentee ballot? Do you need to qualify to vote absentee? What about early voting, how does that work? What does all the talk about voter suppression mean?
