Life Choices: The Grit and The Glamour (or Housesitting Year 3?!)

Living as a "digital nomad" sounds glamorous because not a lot of people do it, or rather "can" do it. When you are married, have kids, pets, or are caring for another human, the digital nomad life is much harder to begin, let alone stick with. Some families hit the road with pets in tow, but while this can give kids a broader view of the world and many memorable experiences, it can also leave them struggling with identity and belonging. So, I am a rare unicorn. I'm not in my 20's living a lifestyle that very few people my age get to live, plus I am doing it while owning my own businesses. Nope, I'm not in tech. I do realize there are a number of tech savvy folks out there who have been traveling the world with nothing but a laptop, a VPN, and a cellphone, but that ain't me. Globe trotting cost money and being that I refuse to sponge off others for all of my adult life, I'm stuck to one part of the globe while I continue to pay the bills and do all the other stupid adult things that I have to do.
