Lights Off

Episode 560 Wednesday-night news-and-nonsense session from the sewer. Nick opens with life updates: a new real job, a day on the set of the horror sci-fi flick Ego Death, and a THC drink that hit way too hard. He digs into Podcast Robot for the Podcast Index, AI music on the podcasting circuit, the Halloween game finally getting a patch, a disappointing run through Rose Red, and the Reese's pumpkin lawsuit. Then the spooky stuff rolls in: Gas Blasts from Dale, Marlene, Chris and Ray, tarot voicemails that say the rat is quitting, and a campfire classic that ends with "Aren't you glad you didn't turn on the lights?" The rest of the hour is Nick's takes on the headlines: a suspected Russian lab plague, McDonald's AI pricing lawsuit, a fatal Central Park dog-and-cyclist crash, NYC's new homeless encampment policy, the City Council's first AI hearing, and NASA's moon plans. The donation segment and a couple of songs round it out before Nick signs off to go touch grass. #NickTheRatRadio #DarkSewerNetwork #Episode560 #LivePodcast #PodcastLife #HalloweenPodcast #SpookySeason #CreepyStories #GasBlasts #HorrorPodcast #NewsAndNonsense #IndiePodcast #ValueForValue #Podcasting20 #UrbanLegends #NYCPodcast #sewerchat Originally aired: 10/07/26 All music is Attribution 3.0 Unported (CC BY 3.0).
