Lindsay Clancy's Own Nurse Practitioner Testifies: No Psychosis, No Homicidal Thoughts

from True Crime Today | Daily True Crime News & Interviews · host Real Story Media

The murder trial of Lindsay Clancy, the Duxbury, Massachusetts mother accused of strangling her three children — 5-year-old Cora, 3-year-old Dawson, and 7-month-old Callan — with exercise bands inside the family's Summer Street home on January 24, 2023, moved into medical territory today. Clancy faces three counts of murder and three counts of strangulation, has pleaded not guilty, and defense attorney Kevin Reddington is arguing she was in the grip of severe postpartum psychosis and psychiatric overmedication.Jurors heard from Julie Paul, one of Clancy's psychiatric nurse practitioners, who was cross-examined by Reddington — the key point being whether Clancy had Paul's personal cell number, which she confirmed. Then Rebecca Jollotta, certified by Postpartum Support International, described taking over Clancy's care after Paul departed the clinic. Jollotta testified to multiple medication changes, weight loss, and poor sleep, but was clear on what she didn't see: no mania, no psychosis, no suicidal or homicidal ideation. She also flagged that the medication trials were cut short rather than run the standard four weeks. Prosecutors pointed to a specific outreach from Clancy to Jollotta — concern about becoming dependent on Ativan and about intrusive thoughts — as evidence Clancy understood her own mental state.Clancy allegedly attempted suicide by jumping from a second-story window after the killings and remains paralyzed from the waist down. Her husband, Patrick Clancy, was running errands at the time and has since relocated to Manhattan. The trial continues in Plymouth Superior Court and is expected to run several weeks.LinksJoin Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video?
