Comedy writer Gareth Gwynn spent August 2004 mopping up melted ice cream, Esyllt Sears spent it travelling between London and Cardiff and a group of Olympic marathon runnners spent it navigating the route of the 1896 marathon - although a (since defrocked) Irish priest had other plans.
