Drawing from lived experience with striking candor, Dowling discusses trauma, resilience, relationships, and the emotional realities too many people suffer through quietly and alone. The conversation also shines a light on Lit Path, the 501(c)(3) nonprofit Dowling co-founded to make trauma-informed mental health treatment more financially accessible for individuals, couples, and families impacted by compulsive behaviors and betrayal trauma. Through Lit Path, Dowling launched Sex Addiction Awareness Week and the annual CSBD Hope for Healing Conference, a first-of-its-kind national gathering designed to reduce stigma, connect survivors with resources, and create meaningful dialogue between clinicians, advocates, peer support leaders, and those seeking recovery.
