As the longtime booking manager for Don't Tell Mama, he has championed generations of performers across cabaret, comedy, and music, helping sustain one of the city's most vital artistic ecosystems. The American Popular Song Society will honor Sidney Myer at its 2026 Gala on Monday, June 15 at The Cutting Room. In Sidney Myer's world, songs are never just songs. Live From The Hotel Edison Times Square Chronicles Presents: EJ Stapleton and The Calico Buffalo

Live From The Hotel Edison Times Square Chronicles Presents”, is filmed at the Hotel Edison. This week on Live From the Hotel Edison, owner Suzanna Bowling is honored to welcome EJ Stapleton to talk about his amazing story and musical The Calico Buffalo. I first met EJ when I was at the NYMTF and saw his musical The Calico Buffalo. I was enchanted and have stayed in touch during the years. I was thrilled to hear that EJ was ready to bring this musical back to life. The Calico Buffalo—a children's book and musical adaptation that, on the surface, tells a simple story: a baby buffalo is born with multi-colored fur and is rejected by the herd for being different. But beneath its fairytale charm lies something deeper. This calico creature is not just an outsider. He is a sign. A living symbol of what happens when prophecy doesn't look like we expect—when the sacred shows up in a form we don't understand. Rejection is often the first reaction to the miraculous. So it is with truth. So it is with the buffalo. The Calico Buffalo, much like the White Buffalo of prophecy, comes as a reminder: Difference is not deformity. It is destiny.
