Como solista dejó discos fundamentales como For Those Who Chant y Luis Gasca (1972), rodeado de músicos históricos como Joe Henderson, Stanley Clarke y Lenny White. Hoy, después de más de seis décadas de trayectoria, Luis Gasca sigue activo en México participando en proyectos culturales, festivales y actividades que defienden la música como herramienta de inclusión, memoria y transformación social. El próximo 30 de mayo, el histórico Salón Los Ángeles abrirá sus puertas para un homenaje en vida dedicado a Luis Gasca y al virtuoso pianista cubano Gabriel Hernández.Una noche donde la síncopa, el jazz latino y la amistad serán protagonistas junto a invitados como Los Kcomixtles, Leo Acosta, Dannah Garay, Alex Mercado y la ONJMX.
